Occasionally when installing new cartridges, especially of different brands or types, Epson printers can become stuck in an error loop when trying to initialise a cartridge for the first time.
The following method is worth trying in such an instance, and has been used across the whole range of Epson printers with some success.
1) Remove all cartridges from the printer, shut the lid or cartridge cover and wait for the printer to display the 'cartridges Missing', 'Install Cartridges' or similar message.
2) Power down the printer at the wall or socket. Keep the printer disconnected from the power for at least 30 minutes, this will enable the error memory to be cleared.
3) Power the printer back up at the wall or socket and re-install all cartridges as if doing so from new. Shut the lid or cartridge cover to enable the printer to re-initialise the cartridges.
Hopefully that has solved the recognition error and you will be able to continue printing.
